We are a local Lions club built around friendship, practical service and a shared commitment to supporting our community.
Who we are
A local club with a strong community focus
Nillumbik Lions Club was chartered in 2010. The booklet records Wayne Purcell and Tom Stockdale as chartering the club, with Greg McNamara playing a guiding role in forming it from the Warrandyte club and becoming president in 2012.
Today the club brings members together through regular meetings, community projects and social activities. The emphasis is practical: members contribute their time, skills and energy where they can make a difference.
Our story
Part of Lions, locally and around the world
Our club is part of the wider Lions movement. The 2026 booklet traces Lions from its beginnings in 1917, its growth into Australia from 1947, and its long history of service in vision, health, emergency relief and community support.

Lions in Australia
William Tresise founded the first Australian Lions club in Lismore, New South Wales.
2010
Nillumbik Lions Club
Our local club was chartered, beginning the story of Nillumbik Lions in the community.
Our meetings
Come along and get to know us
The club meets twice a month for approximately 2.5 hours. One meeting is social and the other is the monthly business meeting.
1st Monday of the month
A social meeting, usually held at a local club or restaurant.
4th Monday of the month
Business meeting at the Eltham Men's Shed, 20 Wattletree Road, Eltham North.
